Julie's Here!

Just wanted to say that Julie made it!

She is here, safe and sound! HOORAY!

I'm so glad she was able to come! It is so fun to see her perspective on life in New York!

Little Dash.

Got to visit Ian, Elizabeth, Dash, and Myrita (E's Mom) on Saturday, so great to see them!

Here are a few pictures- not great, but hey, can you really complain after I've posted like 6 times in two days? I think not!

Here is the Dash!

Ian, new haircute and all. I really love this short look!

Clapping! YAY!

He can also answer the question "what does a doggy say?" and "what does a cow say?"
I know you all know the answers to those questions, yes?
He also has some super sweet new dance moves, and the motor skills are,
of course, improving by the minute!

Staci's Birfday!

Last Thursday, March 22, was Staci's GOLDEN Birthday!

We had dinner at Heartland Brewery and Staci and I had the Beer Journey. 6 5oz glasses of different beers to try, very fun! The food was good too!
Here's Staci, peaking through the PuPu Platter!

Staci and Sabrina!
Claire and Laura!

Staci got to wear this halo for her birthday. And the boa.

So cute! And here she is with her birfday cake!

Staci with Carly (check out the girls on that babe!) walking in the citay...
to the next of several stops.

Hope it was a great one, I certainly had fun!
Love you Staci! Here's to next year!

Hermann Vs. Jerico.

Hermann and Jerico are at war.

Being a cat and a dog, this is not surprising.

What you might find surprising (though if you have a cat, you probably do not) is that Hermann (the cat), not Jerico (the sissy dog), is the agressor.

Below is a (slightly late) capture of Hermann taking his pose to pounce on Jerico when he exits the house....

Moments after this, Jerico will come walking out the door and Hermann, in all his kitty-attack-mode glory, will pounce with his right front paw blades glaring, his teeth bared, and a foul hiss.

Jerico will, most likely, throw it in reverse and back away as fast as possible, perhaps after yelping.

The saga continues...

Spring Break.

Matthew and I went to the Eccles Art Auction in Ogden over spring break. It was fun to get all dressed up and go out. We sat at a table with my parents, Kim and Jay, the Senekjians, and the Colattos, very fun. We found some art we liked but none we loved, and none we wanted to shell out much money for, heh.

Here's a close up:

I always have to ruin pictures like that... sorry:

And here is a long shot so you can see our outfits... fabulous!
Always feels so great to dress up with that handsome man!

It was a great time.

We also got to ski on the first Friday of the break. It was SO wonderful to go up and actually get warm while skiing. Things were fine at the beginning of the day but progressively got hotter and thus slushier... it was ice cream skiing by the end of the day so we called it quits.

Being the genius that i am, I space my camera, and so I have no photo-evidence that we went... but Scott Jackson can testify, he boarded with us. It made me miss my favorite Boarder, miss Julie :)

The week was filled with wedding stuff (we got the invitations figured out, had some good lunches at the Market Street Broiler, I tried on my dress!) that all culminated in tasting the food at the conference center and cake from a cake lady.

The Conference center had some great ideas, and we are really excited... though the day of it was REALLY overwhelming... lots to think about! The cake was SURPRISINGLY good and I'm no longer morally opposed to wedding cake, though I am opposed to the prices... heh. I guess, I've been told, there's no way to avoid it.

Don't worry though. For all of you rooting for berries... there WILL be berries!

The surgery went well, and thank you to those of you who prayed and called, texted, e-mailed. It was great to feel loved that way, and thank God, it was an extremely fast (surprisingly so) recovery! Doing just dandy now!

Below is the post about our St. Patrick's day part that we had the 17th. It was a great party, and we had so much fun reuniting with friends. Allison and Noah stopped by and it was SO FUN to see them! They are such a beautiful couple! It was so exciting to see them- we always have to steal time together whenever we can!

And so... I think that is a pretty decent update on the whole spring break thing. Lots more happened, of course.. lots of fun dinner dates with Matthew, shopping, time with both sets of parents, friends, and more.

St. Patty's Day Party!

None of these are great shots, but you get the idea.

We had so much fun! Thanks to Kelli for providing the decor, Matthew for the apartment, and Colby, Brady, Danny, Whitney, Micah, Robby, and Crystal for making it so much fun!

We had homemade Guinness Stew, Potatoe Skins, Stuffed Mushrooms, Rolls, and drinks provided my Matthew and me. We had a great time celebrating the fighting Irish, and I had such a wonderful time having a little mini-reunion!

Here are some shots to give you an idea of the fun.... we played spoons and "waterfall" so that's what we're doing at the table!

Look for the Third Annual St. Patty's Day, March 2008, coming to an apartment in Maryland near you!

AND>... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BZ! I hope it was a wonderful one!

Revision.

Today I assigned to myself the task of revising (or beginning to revise) one of my fiction stories.

Ugh.

I love writing, and I love revising. But STARTING is painful. Ha.

I love looking at the stack of hundreds of sheets of paper colored with responses from my fifteen classmates and professor. I LOVE that this class is all workshop and feedback and "I loved this" and "this is totally lame and cliche." I love that there is no formality to the comments, that they are honest and harsh when needed, and they value words. I love it.

But now, here, I'm using the blog to procrastinate. I watched a bad Ben Affleck movie, ate lunch, and now have read through all comments. Next stop is the slicing and dicing...woohoo!

Just checking in.. there you have it!

Cap and Gown.

Hi everyone!

I know i have LOTS to update on. And yes... I'm bad at updating while home on breaks.. but I'm better at it over the summers! And I promise to make a valiant effort at frequent updates post graduation especially!

Now.. this is a quickie to say I'm back from spring break in Utah today, and though I miss Utah and Matthew, I am glad to get back into the routine and a little closer to May 10 (graduation!).

Today I recieved info on commencement. I ordered my graduation tickets and my cap and gown.... SO surreal! I got pretty excited, especially when I realized that 7 weeks from tomorrow I graduate from Gallatin and 7 weeks from Thursday I graduate from NYU! WOOHOOO!

So there's that. I promise pictures and stories and good times to come.

Kentucky!

As you can read on Matthew's blog, he and I are headed to live in Kentucky after our 4 months in Maryland starting in January 2008!

He received his orders yesterday and we've been learning about the area ever since! It is right on the border of Tennesse, and Fort Campbell, where he'll be stationed, is actually in both Kentucky AND Tennessee. We'll be about an hour from Nashville which we hear is just fantastic, and we're excited to live in a place we...well... never would have chosen to live ourselves!

I hope you all gear up to come visit! The adventure continues!!!

Spring Issue.

Hey all.

I know I have mentioned this before, but the new issue of Vintage 21 Church's women's online magazine is out and you can get to it by going HERE.

If you look closely, you might find something written by yours truly!

And... as always, if you're interested in writing for them, let me know!
