Hi all,
I keep wanting to come here and write something brilliant. I really just don't have much to say. This is probably to do with the fact that I'm kind of just here in my own little world, strumming along until school starts back up, not doing much or having much interaction (which, honestly, I'm enjoying). Don't mistake me though, I'm very happy to be on break. I've been able to write a bit, to read some things for class, to figure out a paper topic for one of my last two papers in Grad School, grade midterms for the class I'm teaching, and do some relaxing things too.
There's just not much news! I have a few things planned the next few days (cooking class at Whole Foods, 1940s themed Vice Night, etc) that I look forward to, so maybe I'll have stories to tell. I feel like my blog writing has been so dry and blah the last year or so, and I hope to rectify that. Right now I'm blaming this on the fact that most of my creative energy is going into my thesis. Hopefully someday some of those things will be available for you to read in places that are NOT my blog (likemaybeabookorinajournalorsomething) and you can see that what I've withheld from you actually was going towards something.
In the mean time, just know that I do miss blogging, but my writerly energy is waning, and I've got to put what's left of it towards my thesis. I think this spring break is helping me recharge, and the fact that Spring is peaking its little head out definitely helps that.
I'll check back in again soon, and hopefully with something more upbeat.
On a side, but very important note, if you're not aware of what is going on in Morocco, you should probably find out. Go to this link to read more.

For a Month.
Well, it's me and Dutchy here for a month.
Matthew is off in Fort Polk, Louisiana doing pre-deployment training this month. He left Sunday morning around 4:00am (well, I dropped him off), and he should be back "no later than" March 26th. So far, so good. The first few days were rough readjusting to living alone... Dutch and I have had many interesting conversations.
I'm now officially on Spring Break, and it is great to be looking at a week without a schedule of to do's. I am going to be doing lots of writing and reading over the break, and hopefully have a few good catch up conversations with friends. If we haven't talked in a while, let's plan a phone date!
I'll try to blog again and catch up on life. I'm hoping to blog more after Graduation which is in May (and which I'm officially approved for! woot!).
Have a great weekend,
Claire
